New Patients at Kinstruct Health Chiropractic & Wellness

You will immediately feel at home the moment you walk in the door. If you’ve ever gone to a social event where you didn’t know anyone, you know how uncomfortable that can make you feel. Our goal is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home.

Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our relationship can go the distance. We’ve found that one of the best ways to have successful patient relationships is to explain everything in advance. No surprises!

The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you’ll enjoy. It’s as simple as that.

Your First Visit

You and your family are warmly welcomed into our friendly practice. Upon your arrival, our helpful chiropractic assistants will greet you and give you a tour of the office. We’ll take your paperwork from you, and then you’ll be taken to our main examination room. There, the doctor will meet with you to review your intake forms and complete a health history with you. We’ll then spend time explaining how chiropractic and our office work. Once we’ve completed the initial consultation, our comprehensive examination will begin.

There are three components to the examination:

  • Spinal X-rays, if indicated as necessary
  • A computerized COREscore exam to measure nervous system stress consisting of three scans: thermography, a surface electromyography and heart rate variability.
  • A physical examination to determine areas of imbalance in your body, including orthopedic testing, range of motion, neurological assessment and palpation

From the examination, we’ll be able to determine the structural issues that may be contributing to your health concerns. Our computerized examination will show us the effects of stress in your body, since 85% of all chronic degenerative disease results from stress. This scan is the foundation of our assessment and is regularly used to assess objectively how you are responding to care.

The physical examination will show us which areas in your body are out of balance and which spinal segments are restricted. As chiropractors, we are trained to assess and detect interference in your spine and provide appropriate corrective techniques to reduce these restrictions. This examination will also allow us to rule out any underlying problems that may require a referral or further investigation.

The goal of the initial assessment is to evaluate your spine and nervous system to see how they’re functioning. We’ll also determine the stressors and challenges you are presently facing that are contributing to your injury or health issues.

After the initial assessment is complete, our team will review your health history and examination findings to create a specific care plan for you. You’ll then return for a second visit. We’ll have you watch a brief orientation video to better understand chiropractic care. After the video, your doctor will explain the results of your scans, examination and X-rays (if taken). This will be related back to your health condition or challenge so you’ll understand how we’re going to improve your health.

Your report of findings is concluded with the details of your individualized care plan. This will outline the recommended number of visits, nutritional advice and recommended supplements, rehabilitative exercises and lifestyle modifications. Most care plans consists of three phases; relief, restoration and wellness or maintenance. If you require a referral for additional testing or examination, we’ll discuss this with you. Next, you will be checked and adjusted! You are now on your way to improving your health. We ask that you see the front desk following your first adjustment to discuss the financial details of your care and your family plan options. Please have your calendar handy as we like to schedule your next appointment before leaving the office so we can stay on track with your care plan.

Our helpful chiropractic assistants will always greet you warmly when you come for your appointment at Kinstruct Health Chiropractic & Wellness. You’ll be asked to sign in at the front desk, and then relax until it is time for your adjustment or treatment.

Your care will likely require more frequent visits in the beginning. This will allow your body to adapt to the physical and neurological changes that are happening with each visit. There is no doubt you’ll see progress along each step of the way! Please see the front desk after your visit to confirm your next appointment.

Progress exams are completed every 12-20 visits to measure your ongoing success. These assessments include a computerized exam called a COREscore (thermography, surface electromyography and heart rate variability test) with a neural efficiency score calculated from the three scans. This score is used to show how your body is adapting to stress and provides feedback as to how your nervous system is functioning. It will also show how regular care and lifestyle modifications are moving you toward wellness.

This exam also includes range of motion, orthopedic assessment and other relevant tests. The visit concludes with a discussion about your progress and future recommendations for care. Feel free to download the Progress Examination Questionnaire form so you can complete it at your convenience. Please bring the completed form with you to your progress exam.
